Brabant vecht tegen water

Welcome on 'hub'. Hub is meant to give you an overview of the different sites I made and update and also the work I am currently doing.

In this part of the website, photos made during my never ending journey around the world can be found. This part of the site is also regular updated as the journey continues.

Beside photos from other countries I also love to make photos of the "Uithof". The campus of the Utrecht University where I live and work.

At present day, I am working on a project as a PhD student at the Tectonophysics group, Utrecht University. This project focuses on testing scenarios for the Central Anatolian Plateau tectonics using 3D geodynamic models of plate reorganization processes at the scale of Anatolia. Publications of this project and other projects, especially  about the Messinian-Salinity Crisis in the Black Sea, can be found here.

The flood of 1995 was one of the worst the Netherlands experienced, just like two years before the threat came not from the sea but from Germany and Belgium. The Maas and the Rijn had reached enormous heights due to plenty of rain. The threat was so strong that 250.000 people had to leave there houses. Stories of this flood, the threat of water and the solutions are collected in this extensive internet-project about water.
